The Road Ahead
Good Shepherd is a “Driven” church … driven toward the Vision God has placed on our hearts:
“To reach and transform spiritually distracted families in our local community so they come to know and love God!
Our church family is on an adventure toward seeing this Vision become a reality. “The Road Ahead” has an exciting future … a future where more and more families in our community explore what it means to be “driven” toward the life of true satisfaction that only Christ can provide.
What does this mean for the church?
As we drive toward this Vision, we are looking for ways to align church resources - people, funding, space, time, etc. - so they make the greatest impact. Focusing our priorities helps us: Welcome people into inspiring and intimate worship. Grow and develop followers of Christ. Serve together to the glory of God.
So far, Vision alignment has created:
- A “Family Life Ministry” encompassing children, student and adult staff positions.
- Alpha in our neighborhoods.
- Faith in Action, the new 9:29 worship service.
But there’s much more to do! Roadblocks, especially those related to facility and space limitations, prevent us from reaching many families and responding to their needs.
What does this mean for you?
In order to participate in this Vision, we believe a shift can take place in individual hearts as we respond to God’s call and use our time, talent and financial treasure to forward God’s vision for our church.
One specific way you can make an impact is through the Stewardship Initiative. Over the next few months, someone from the church will request a personal visit with you and your family.
During this visit, you will learn more about the church’s Vision and how expansion of ministry and facility will help fulfill it. Then you’ll learn how your time, talent and financial treasure can move Good Shepherd farther down The Road Ahead.
“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Jeremiah 29:11
